1. We Are Not Attorneys

We are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice, legal opinions, or legal strategy.
We cannot represent you in court or tell you what legal actions you should take.

If you need legal advice, you should consult with a licensed attorney.

2. What a Legal Document Assistant (LDA) Can Do

Under California law, we may:

• Prepare legal documents at your specific direction

• Provide self-help legal materials and published information

• File and process documents that you have directed us to prepare

• Offer typing, document preparation, and clerical services

• Provide general information on court procedures (not advice)

We can explain where information goes on a form,
but we cannot tell you what to write.

3. What We Cannot Do

We cannot:

• Give legal advice

• Explain legal rights, strategies, or consequences

• Select forms for you

• Tell you how to proceed in your case

• Represent you in court

• Negotiate on your behalf

• Communicate with attorneys for you

 

4. Your Responsibility

By using our services, you acknowledge:

• You are responsible for your own legal decisions

• You are directing us on which documents to prepare

• We do not review documents for legal sufficiency

• You may seek attorney guidance at any time

 

5. Fees and Services

All fees charged by California Document Prep are for:

• Document preparation

• Typing

• Filing assistance

• Clerical/administrative support

No portion of our fee is for legal advice or legal representation.

 

6. Bond Information

As required by California Business & Professions Code § 6405,
we maintain a $25,000 bond filed with the San Bernardino County Recorder to protect clients against unlawful acts by the LDA.

 

7. Acknowledgment

By working with us, you acknowledge that:

• We have explained that we are not attorneys

• You understand the limitations of an LDA

• You understand your right to consult a lawyer

• You are directing your own legal matter
